The Process

What is included:

  • A get-to-know-you meeting with the couple, followed by two or three planning sessions.
  • Most officiants provide several options for ceremony wording and structure, as well as a choice of readings.
  • On the wedding day, the officiant arrives early, has the witnesses sign the marriage license, and performs the ceremony.
  • Afterward, the officiant mails the marriage license to the county so it can be officially recorded, and mails a copy to the couple.

Depending on the package you select, we meet a number of timesbeforehand either in person or on Skype to figure out the details of your ceremony and the words said by the minister.

Things we help you figure out beforehand:

  • What do we say to the people?
  • What do we say to each other?
  • What will be the symbolic act of our union?
  • What is said over the symbol of our union (rings, ribbon, etc.)?
  • What is said at closing?
  • Should something spiritual be done beforehand with us/the symbol/the space?
